The Rugged West Coast Recce
The West Coast of New Zealand truly is like a living, breathing Jurassic park. With it's wildly rugged beaches, dense native forests, abundant and varied wildlife and all situated below the towering Southern Alps, making your way up this unique coastline is a must.
This superb itinerary (or your own personal variation) starts in the bustling Central Otago resort town of Queenstown, takes you over the hills to the slightly more low-key township of Wanaka, on up the incredible West Coast of our South Island and finishes in the wine-lovers region of Marlborough staying a night or two in Blenheim. Along the way you'll experience beautiful food, stay in stunning luxury accommodation, witness the abundance of native New Zealand wildlife and meet loads of local Kiwi characters along the way (hopefully both the bird and the people)!
