We just returned to Auckland from our week in the South Island. The two highlights of the trip were our stay in Lake Wanaka and the Over The Top helicopter ride in Queenstown.
Steve Scott was our helicopter pilot and it was a once in a lifetime experience. We flew by several glaciers, landed on the beach of a high country lake and had sparkling wine and cheese at a remote lodge. Steve is a wonderful pilot and a great guy.
Roger and Shonagh were the perfect hosts and the lodge they built was just terrific - we really enjoyed it.
