Nestled snugly between the towering, Kaikoura mountain range and the glistening Pacific Ocean, Hapuku Lodge and Treehouses are the realisation of a lifelong ecological vision. Situated on a working family deer farm and surrounded by native New Zealand bush, each individual suite has been detailed with custom-made slat beds and finished with the finest of luxuries on offer.
With a mountain view out one side, and an ocean view out the other, spending a few nights in a tree-house is something we all need to do a bit more of. Each named after a native New Zealand bird species, the architects wanted to get people closer to
the birds and have been hugely successful in doing so.
Should heights not be your thing then the lodge suites are nothing short of spectacular, again with spacious ensuites and wood furnishings made from over 10 different types of timber.
With New Zealand artwork, pottery and plants throughout, Hapuku Lodge really is the finest example of man vs ecology symbiosis and to top it all off, the wines and local cuisine will send you into a deep, peaceful and energising slumber.
